Dr. Elimene Merizier, PhD
Introduction

I help attorneys and organizations understand the human story behind the case.

I am a Forensic Victimologist, Human Behavior Analyst, and Litigation Psychology Consultant. My work sits at the intersection of trauma science, victim behavior, and the legal system — where the details that shape a person's decisions are too often overlooked.

I help attorneys and organizations understand how trauma affects the way people behave, remember things, and make decisions. I explain why someone might stay in an abusive relationship, how trauma impacts memory, and what makes someone appear credible (or not) in court.

My mission is simple: to ensure that behavioral science strengthens every case — because when we truly understand behavior, we strengthen cases and support real justice.

Why This Work Is Personal

My lived experience shapes how I show up for every case.

My path to this work was shaped by both personal experience and professional training. As a survivor of domestic violence and someone who has witnessed the devastating effects of unaddressed trauma in military and civilian systems, I became determined to use my expertise to create change.

Through my PhD research on racism in the military and my clinical work with survivors, I saw how often trauma is misunderstood, minimized, or weaponized against the very people it has harmed. I founded R.I.S.E. Consulting to change that — to bring rigorous, compassionate, and culturally responsive analysis to the legal system.
